Artashes Mirzatuny is a licensed acupuncturist within the state of California. He attended the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (ACTCM), where he earned his Masters of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine. He also is a certified massage therapist, specializing in Shiatsu-style massage.
His clinical experience includes interning at the ACTCM Community Clinic and at the ACTCM Auricular Clinic, as well as externships at the Haight-Ashbury Free Clinic. Artashes also completed an advanced program of study in Traditional Chinese Medicine, focusing on acupuncture and herbal medicine, at the Zhejiang Chinese Medical University in Hangzhou, China.
Artashes is a general practitioner with a special interest in psycho-emotional issues, pain management, men’s health, women’s health and LGBTQ issues. The modalities of TCM he utilizes are acupuncture, herbal medicine, cupping, electrical-stimulation, gua sha, moxabustion, nutritional counseling and bodywork.
He holds two Bachelors degrees (B.S. in Pharmacology and B.A. in Environmental studies) from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Upon graduating he worked in drug discovery research, specializing in oncology and metabolic disease. He worked in this research for five years before deciding to move onto studying Chinese Medicine.
When Artashes is not in the clinic, he can be found cooking, hiking or tending to his plants and cat Oscar.
